Upon invitation of Marco Delogu within the “Commissione di Roma 2010”, Todd Papageorge runs himself into this project about Rome crossing the street photography and the tradition of North-American photography. Delogu imagined it all as a series of “topographic” shots of Rome which Papageorge would have filled with life. But as often happens in art, creativity of Todd bypassed the initial idea to begin a sort of flanerie in Rome: a few details, a lot of gestures but never spectacular, and a city that often is not immediately recognizable and never the people watching in the camera.
Beautifully produced book featuring 20 extended gatefold images. Recommended.
